Abdallah Mikulu

Founder & Executive Director

Abdallah is a founder of Mazingira Plus, a social and environmental champion from Tanzania, East Africa. He’s dedicated to Plastic Pollution and Waste Management in Dar Es Salaam city and is an expert on decentralised community waste management models including a Zero Waste Model in Tanzania that aims to solve the waste mismanagement problem in low-income communities. 

Aso, he’s a Climate Reality leader and country representative under Climate Reality Project. He was trained under cohort 2020 facilitated by a former Vice President of the United States of America Al Gore. The program equipped him with what’s at stake in the climate crisis – for our planet and our future – and developed practical skills to advocate for a more just, sustainable, and healthy world.

From 2018 to 2021 he oversaw the World Cleanup Campaign in Tanzania, at the local level, this involved 15 Regions of Tanzania. certified to lead regional training, and community mobilization efforts, mentor local officials and organize regional training to support volunteers. Powered by his experience working on consultancy projects for national and international institutions including GIZ, and the Royal Engineering Academy (UK). He is an alumnus of YALI East Africa, a member of Junior Chamber International and the German-Tanzania-based DAKA Youth Network.

Ramadhani Jumanne Mwakae

Health Ecologist | Nature-based solutions for Climate change | Mangrove disruptor| Biodiversity Researcher

Ramadhani J. Mwakae has been successfully a youngster Health ecologist researcher, Climate activist, Conservationist and nature based solutions (NBS) expert for resilient coastal ecosystems for over 3 years.

Ramadhani Jumanne Mwakae, graduated with a Master’s of science in Public health major in Health ecology and in 2019, graduated Bsc. in wildlife major in environmental conservation from college of Forest, wildlife and Tourism, Sokoine University in Tanzania. 

He is a master of urban conservation, professional in Health Ecology and skillful in nature based solutions planning for climate change adaptation in coastal ecosystems.

As the Program coordinator volunteer  at mazingira plus he has developed GBIs, NBS models and coordinates different programs and projects in the country and outside the country regarding mangrove restoration and Climate change. Also, he coordinates all local programs and activities with local partners in the country.

Also, he worked as Health ecologist researcher where he collaborated with different research projects including, Ecologists Africa, African Centre of Excellence Innovative Rodent Pest Management and Biosensor Technology (ACEII-IRP&BTD) and WIMOSA. Also he is a member of Global wastewater initiatives.

Thabit holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). He has over 9 years experience of working with local Government, National and International organizations. 

He is an ambitious, motivated and multi skilled Accountant with a keen eye for details and working experience with account, Audit, finance and business expert.

Hannah Sluka
Volunteer
Social Worker

Hannah Sluka is a social worker from Hamburg. She works in the area of home-based family support as a part-time job. Once a week, she also does a language course with artistic means at a primary school. 

In 2019, I founded a “Maridadi” business with her friend Janela Fitz. They sell clothes and accessories produced in East Africa, working together with tailors and manual workers, whom we’ve known for several years. They’re selling online and travelling to festivals in Germany with a shop. 

She is also doing an apprenticeship in ‘AquaRelax’ and “WATSU” (water shiatsu), which are aquatic body therapies.
